This question for me personally, as a person and as a specialist, causes many mixed feelings. Often, when I see difficulties in people’s lives, they ask for help (explicitly or indirectly), I suggest making an appointment with a psychologist or psychotherapist. When I worked in a medical-psychological center, I not only recommended, but prescribed consultations with such specialists. And I often heard in response: “How can a psychologist help me?” , “Why should I go to him?”, “Do I have a completely advanced case?”...etc. I understand that you can be quite a smart person, and perhaps you really have a good understanding of people. But here’s the thing: even if I’m a cool gynecologist, I still need another gynecologist. Simply because it’s not very comfortable for me to look at myself from the inside, and it’s quite likely that I won’t see something or could even harm myself. Of course, now there are a lot of psychologists who call themselves that even more. I understand that for commercial purposes people have sometimes done things they are not qualified to do. Now there are many articles about how psychologists cause harm. This is possible if the psychologist did not diagnose in time what the doctor should treat, and did not redirect the person to a psychiatrist. Therefore, the psychologist must work in tandem with the doctor. In some cases, pharmacotherapy actually works well. Often it is necessary to continue counseling. You should go to a psychologist: If you understand everything in your head, but still can’t change anything. If you have difficult experiences and you are trying to control them, but something still happens to your mood .Just “sucks”, maybe even for no reason. Your sleep has changed, you fall asleep late, you wake up unrested If you are in a relationship in which you are not easy, and it may seem that they will not change, or others become unbearable. You you don’t know how to live further, where to move, what to do. Your desires and joys have disappeared. The world seems dull. If you are afraid or afraid of something... and I can go on and on with the list. In general, if you are unhappy with something in life, then your path is to a psychologist. I often hear from my clients: "Why didn't I meet you earlier?" “Where were you a year, five, a hundred years ago?”...I sometimes smile back. You need to decide to meet with a psychologist. This takes courage. Unfortunately, many people have the belief “until a roast rooster pecks at your head...”. They are afraid of psychologists and psychotherapists. Why is a question for me myself. Either because they don’t believe that anyone can help. And this is about the question about roasted rooster. “I myself”, “I myself”... Here we return to the example with the gynecologist. This is about the question of giving up and saying “now I’ve done everything I could...” Maybe then someone else is really needed? not a friend with his own opinion about you, not a mentor who will tell you where to go, but someone else. Who will be attentive to you and will help you find the optimal solution for you, and not for someone else. Either because the psychologist will suddenly get into your head and will not be careful there. No one will ever get into your head , if you don't want to. Even a hypnotherapist! I am telling you this as a person who has studied hypnosis as a method of work. At the very beginning of our training, the first thing they explained to us was the myth about hypnosis. A psychologist is not a gypsy from the street. You cannot influence a person if he does not want to. If he doesn't start trusting someone else. TV, the Internet, the media influence you more... After all, you allow them. Well, one more phrase that I have heard and hear when I talk about a psychologist: “I was, it didn’t help me.” There are several options here: either you really chose an incompetent specialist, or it took more time to resolve your issue, or somewhere deep in your soul you don’t want to change anything. And finally: how to choose your specialist? You can focus on several points: 1-Find out where he (s) received his higher education diploma. In general, in principle, do you have a diploma? But there is very little of it for consulting. 2-With what!
