Group psychotherapy with drug addicts. In the group, a young but already severely “destroyed” drug addict complains that he wants to leave the Center. Everything is bad, everyone is bad, life is bad... etc. He talks about the same thing for half an hour. The whole group got tired of it. But we listen patiently. The boys' tension is growing. So far, gently, but with some difficulty, I explain to him the essence of rehabilitation. I’m trying to joke, translate it into humor - it’s getting worse and worse. Suddenly, this “fruit” grabs a porcelain mug from the windowsill, breaks it on the floor, takes the fragment and presses it to his left hand - they say to cut the veins. Everyone froze. He shouts: “If they don’t let me go now, I’ll open myself, damn... I’m not kidding!” (not joking, really) I raise my hand up and tell everyone: “calm!” Pause. Heart to the heels! I start to sweat a little... I slowly get up and say to one of the rehabilitators: “Andryusha, please come up and show him your hands.” He rolls up his sleeves and, approaching our “under-mutilator,” holds out his hands to him, palms up. (the transverse and longitudinal scars of both his arms look very impressive!) “Guys, show me...,” I say to the group. They come up one by one, stretching out their tormented hands. In a semicircle there are seven people with outstretched hands, looking at the troublemaker and calmly remaining silent. "Even me was hit..." The troublemaker removes the fragment and sits down on a chair. Everyone sits down. After a pause, we share our feelings. The “disturber” is patted on the shoulder, joked, he grins and is silent....
