Dependence (addiction, English addiction - inclination, habit) is an obsessive need to perform certain actions, despite the adverse consequences of a medical, psychological or social nature. Dependence can be physiological and behavioral (chemical and non-chemical). Caused by taking chemicals substances – alcohol, drugs. From gambling, shopping, computer games to risky behavior, etc. What happens in the psyche during chemical or non-chemical dependence is the same for the brain. Before meeting alcohol (a chemical substance), a person has a single reality, a single understanding of life and relationships in it. A healthy world of people is a world of social relationships, a world in which there are emotionally significant people, be it a beloved friend or a sworn enemy. A person lives in this reality, experiencing good or bad life events. Social interaction in this case is the object, and the occasions used for meetings are the means to achieve them. Having a glass at a bar is a reason (means) for a meeting and a person experiences excitement and high spirits from the upcoming meeting with a person (object). There is also another world (dependent) where there are no emotionally significant people and social interaction. In a person with addiction, a revolution of concepts occurs; an emotional connection is established with an inanimate object: alcohol, a drug, or an action: social networks, TV, computer, selfie. In this reality, all concepts are turned upside down. So in the situation of “having a drink at a bar with friends,” the object becomes drinking, and the means of achieving it are people. A person also experiences excitement and high spirits from the upcoming meeting, but not with people, but with drink. The addict is in constant motion between one reality and another. Either he is in the system of human relationships, or in the dependent world. That’s why his actions sometimes seem so contradictory. For a healthy child, a mother is more important and necessary than even the most interesting toy. Because the mother is an emotionally significant adult or object, and the toy is a means. In a healthy person, emotional connections are formed with people, and not with inanimate objects. Mom came home from work, poured herself a cup of tea and sat down at the computer. The daughter calling her mother for attention only irritates the latter more. Mom perceives her daughter as an obstacle to what she is doing on the computer. The emotional response is caused by the computer, not the daughter - dependent behavior. People take pictures while traveling, they have a lot of Internet and free access to the network. While taking photographs, they do not have time to “SURVIVE” this journey and meet people. There are pictures for them. The more pictures, the less travel and new people for them.
