From the author: More of my articles The famous fairy tale “Ryaba Hen” in its truncated version has entered our lives again. This happens in any Slavic family when the child is between 1.5 and 3 years old. He looks at the pictures with pleasure and asks his parents to tell them more and more. Our son, unlike people who lived many thousands of years ago, especially likes the moment when the egg breaks)) since it is after this action that chaos begins in the fairy tale. I began to think about the true meaning of this fairy tale. What is she talking about? Why does she live for so many centuries in a row? It does not have the logical meaning that other modern experts attribute to it. There is no special wisdom contained in it. Analyzing it from the point of view of why the grandfather beat the egg or how the hen was able to lay the golden egg is stupid. But what then? This is the conclusion I came to. In order for a person to remain a person, he needs to explain the structure of the world, he needs a theory. Humanity will never be able to fully explain the world due to the fact that we do not have enough knowledge to do this, even now. Now imagine our ancestors, who also tried to interpret the organization of life. They did it in an everyday way, purely intuitively. Ancient man creates a general picture of the world with the help of guesses, reflections, and fantasies. This is how the myth arose. An ancient myth CANNOT be analyzed with the help of modern knowledge and motivations. After all, our ancestors explained even the birth of children by parthenogenesis. It is necessary to study the history, traditions, rituals, and symbolism of the life of our distant ancestors in order to get at least a little closer to the original essence that they put into their myths. Initially, The Ryaba Hen was not a fairy tale, and certainly not for children. Its plot was not at all the same as we know it now. An ancient version of the fairy tale Chicken Ryaba Once upon a time there lived a grandfather and a woman, they had a chicken Ryaba; laid an egg under the floor - colorful, colorful, boney, tricky! The grandfather beat him and didn’t break him, the woman beat him and didn’t break him, but the mouse came running and crushed him with his tail. The grandfather is crying, the woman is crying, the chicken is clucking, the gate is creaking, wood chips are flying from the yard, the top of the hut is shaking! The priest’s daughters went for water, they asked the grandfather, they asked the woman: “What are you crying about?” “How can we not cry!” - Grandfather and woman answer. — We have chicken Ryaba; laid an egg under the floor - colorful, colorful, boney, tricky! Grandfather beat and didn’t break, the woman beat and didn’t break, but the mouse came running and crushed it with its tail. When the priest’s daughters heard this, out of great grief they threw the buckets to the ground, broke the rocker arms and returned home empty-handed. “Oh, mother!” - they say to the priest. “You don’t know anything, you don’t know anything, but there’s a lot going on in the world: a grandfather and a woman live, they have a chicken Ryaba; laid an egg under the floor - colorful, colorful, boney, tricky! The grandfather beat him and didn’t break him, the woman beat him and didn’t break him, but the mouse came running and crushed him with his tail. That’s why the grandfather cries, the woman cries, the chicken cackles, the gates creak, wood chips fly from the yard, the top of the hut is wobbly. And we, going for water, threw the buckets and broke the rocker arms! At that time, the priest was crying, and the chicken was cackling, and immediately, out of great grief, she knocked over the kneading bowl and scattered all the dough on the floor. The priest came with a book. “Oh, father!” - the priest tells him. That’s why the grandfather cries, the woman cries, the chicken cackles, the gates creak, wood chips fly from the yard, the top of the hut is wobbly! Our daughters, while going to fetch water, threw the buckets, broke the rocker arms, and I kneaded the dough and, out of great grief, scattered everything on the floor! The priest began to sunbathe and tore his book to shreds. Analysis of “The Ryaba Hen” I propose to approach the analysis of this fairy tale with analysis characters. Here are the main characters: grandfather and woman, Ryaba the chicken, egg, mouse, nature, priest’s family. So, grandfather and woman are a couple, wise representatives of earthly life, our
