Many people have heard the expression “Close Gestalt”, but not everyone fully understands what it means. Let's figure it out. In simple words, gestalt is not a completed task, but “close gestalt” - working through the past and the possibility of changing it in your mind. As a result, the quality of life and relationships with others change after this. Our psyche is designed in such a way that we need to bring everything to the end. It follows that if the situation was not brought to its conclusion, time after time it will emerge in the memory and create psychological discomfort, causing negative emotions. Moreover, most often a person does not realize what exactly causes this negativity. Gestalt therapy aims to help figure this out. Gestalt therapy is one of the most popular areas in psychology. It is aimed at helping a person understand their unfinished situations with feelings and needs that they could not live and work through, and then take responsibility for their life. At the same time, all the parts come together, so all the events that happened in a person’s life are important. Anything unfinished prevents a person from being happy and living a full life. The technique helps you become aware of yourself, learn to listen to yourself, your feelings, and most importantly, understand what is happening in your life and how you personally participate in it. The differences between Gestalt therapy and other areas in psychology are that it is not always can be distinguished from simple communication, due to the fact that it is built on simplicity. A huge advantage is that the psychologist in Gestalt therapy is allowed to express his own feelings, thoughts, experiences and remain sincere in communicating with his client. The psychologist does not seek to correct his client and impose his opinion on him. In this situation, he is not an expert who knows everything about the client’s feelings, but someone who helps the client look at his situation from a different angle. Gestalt therapy conveys that the main thing is to live in the present and work with what you have, not to deny the outside world, but to live in harmony with it and listen to yourself. Here is what you should pay attention to when choosing your psychologist in this method: 1. Trust your intuition.2. Trust the psychologist (not be afraid that he may hide the truth or deceive).3. Pay attention to whether the psychologist is friendly, interested and confident in himself or not and whether communication with him does not cause you discomfort. The main thing I would like to say is to treat yourself, your desires and interests with love and respect. Try to treat the people you interact with and who are close to you in the same way. There is no need to neglect finding a balance between your inner self and forming relationships with your environment. Gestalt therapy will be more effective if you work not only with yourself, but also with your environment. This is important because as a result of the session, the psychologist will trigger positive changes, after which the client will feel that a start has been made and his life will continue to get better. After the client returns to his environment, he and all the therapy performed with him may be devalued. And in this case, the specialist can guide the client on how to properly interact with his environment. To summarize, we can say that closing one’s gestalts is important for each of us, because if they are not closed, they will still remind of themselves and interfere with life .
