When a person who is interested in psychosomatics comes to me, I conduct a diagnosis. This is a mandatory stage of consultation for any request. Diagnostics consists of: methods and questionnaires that maximally reveal the picture of the client’s personality and condition during the interview. Usually, before reaching a psychologist, a person with psychosomatic problems goes through the “9 circles of hell” with various specialists in the medical field. During the consultation process, I collect anamnesis about the family and draw up a genogram, this is a kind of pedigree of the client, in which I record information about family members, their diseases, behavioral patterns, relative to each other, habits. The genogram is not a clinical tool, but it makes it possible to see the picture more holistically. For the client himself, the genogram helps to understand what methods of adaptation are used in negative situations, what methods of response are present. For example, if a factor such as alcoholism, drug addiction, incest is traced in the family, tendency to violence, then there is a high probability that such behavior is repeated from generation to generation. Analysis of such behavior patterns allows the trustee to see the problem and influence the unfavorable pattern of behavior in his family in order to prevent problems. If from generation to generation, the norm in the family are divorces, this gives the trustee an understanding that such patterns of behavior in the family are destructive, and in the process of psychotherapy, he learns new behavior that allows him to save the family and pass on the new pattern of behavior to the next generations. In the process of collecting information for the genogram, I ask questions about family composition, and demographic information of the family, about when the problem arose. Information is necessarily collected about recent events, what the reaction of loved ones to an important event in the family, about parents, children, grandparents. During the interviewing process, information is collected about difficult situations and topics for the family, most often these are taboo topics that are not discussed in the family circle: abortion, loss of a child, drugs, sexual violence, incest, psychiatric and medical problems. When collecting such information, the task of the psychologist , show maximum delicacy, and if I encounter strong resistance from the trustee, I return to painful topics later. Such information can become an important key point in the emotional ways of reacting in the family system. Sign up for a consultation via WhatsApp/Viber/Telegram:89224461329
