Remember. Have you ever been jealous? Of course they were jealous. Every person has experienced this feeling at least once in their life. However, there are people who are constantly jealous. Pathological envy and ways to get rid of it will be discussed further. Where does pathological envy come from? It’s not so scary when you once thought: “What a cool car your neighbor has, I’ll never have one like that,” and it’s a completely different matter when you constantly notice that your neighbor has something better than you. Pathological envy is a serious problem. In addition, this is a way of life, into which a person often does not even think about changing anything. The saddest thing in this whole story is that a person sees his life as meaningless. Vasya has this, Petya has the second, Dima has the third, but I will never have this. The reason for this is the lack of harmony with one’s own self. When a person cannot agree with himself, he simply does not know what he wants. He does not set goals for himself, does not strive for anything, does not take care of himself and, accordingly, his life. Well, the opinion that life is monotonous gets stuck so deeply that the thought of somehow changing your life does not even occur to you. The reason for this behavior lies in childhood. Just remember: “Keep your head down! Don't be an upstart! You can't earn big money honestly! Less is better!” Since childhood, we have been taught to be content with little and suppressed the craving for something more. Yes, we also looked with envy at classmates in new dresses or classmates whose shirts were completely new, and not inherited from their older brother. But if we had been told in time about such things as harmony with our own Self, self-development, goals, childhood envy would have remained there, in childhood. Consequences of pathological envy One thing is constantly spinning in the head of a pathological envier: “Everything is bad for me, boring, uninteresting. I'm a failure, I can't do anything. Others have a good job, everything is ok with their personal life, and they look much better than me.” Envy zombifies a person and slows him down in one state. If you don't take action, you may never see anything bright in life. Over time, the envious person becomes stronger in the opinion that everyone around him who lives better does it to spite him. If you think about it logically, it’s complete nonsense. But an envious person always looks for confirmation of a conspiracy theory against himself and successfully finds it. In addition, the only way out of the whole situation a person sees is not his own changes, but leveling. When everything is as bad for others as it is for him, then universal justice will come. Is it possible to get rid of pathological envy? It has already been mentioned several times above that the main problem of a pathological envier is the lack of contact with himself. The first step to correction is self-development. After all, in order to change something in life, you need to start moving yourself. It is not at all necessary to immediately run to specialists (although in fact this is not superfluous at all) or study books on how to become better. To begin with, you can sit down and write down what you have that’s so cool that others don’t have. After all, if a person, for example, has a little more money than you, this does not mean at all that he does not have problems. Successful people can also be up to their necks in problems and even depression. A neighbor with a cool car may not know how to do the splits, but you can, for example. Look for some positive things, achievements, virtues, advantages in yourself. In the end, maybe your eyes are more beautiful and your nose is straighter. Once you start accepting yourself in a positive way, your life will turn in the same direction. When a person doesn't have something, it can be frustrating. But this fact can also set you up to search for this something. When you're done looking for good things in yourself, look around and find something to be happy about. Well, at least even if you are lying on the sofa, you are now warm and comfortable. This is actually great, especially if you remember that.
