From the author: Men and women... they are so different, like creatures from different planets. I sincerely hope that my article will help men understand women better. Women's logic When talking about women's mental abilities, men often express a condescending and sometimes dismissive opinion about “women's logic.” Let's figure out together what this phenomenon is - female logic. As for mathematical or everyday logic, there are no fundamental differences between male and female logic. Having the same data for analysis, having the same knowledge, both a man and a woman will come to the same conclusions. Provided the same intellectual abilities, of course. In general and on average, the level of mental abilities in men and women is approximately the same. The fundamental difference is only in the gradation of mental abilities, which is wider in men - from geniuses to complete idiots (I think that many will immediately name at least several male geniuses, but it is not easy to remember a female genius, even if you really try hard). In women, this gradation is noticeably narrower, so there are very few geniuses among women, but there are practically no complete idiots (we all periodically meet on the street people with a pathologically low level of mental abilities who need outside care - and, as a rule, most of these people - men). So where did the expression “female logic” come from in this case? I think that the difference is not in the characteristics of male or female logic, especially since from the point of view of psychology this difference does not exist - there is simply logic, as a property of human thinking. Men call feminine logic all the behavior of a woman that they do not understand. That is, female logic is everything that seems illogical to men. What are the reasons for the external illogicality of female behavior? Reason one. A woman’s prudence is directly related to her hormonal levels. A woman’s behavior in the middle of the menstrual cycle and during PMS is often very different. During PMS, many women become emotionally unstable; everything that people around them say and do causes outbursts of irritation. But if during the day at work a woman still somehow restrains herself, then in the evening, when she comes home, she pours out all the irritation accumulated during the day on her household. Outwardly, all this looks absolutely illogical - the socks that her husband threw next to the bed enrage her today, although before that, for three weeks, she quite calmly picked them up and took them to the bath, the crumbs on the kitchen table also cause an attack of rage today, etc. .d. It’s one thing when a woman’s character traits and habits of her husband cause rejection, the husband knows about this and tries to minimize the manifestations of these qualities and habits. And it’s a completely different matter when some of the husband’s qualities and habits infuriate a woman only 2-3-4 days a month. The husband is not an expert on the physiology of the female body, so he simply twists his finger at his temple and attributes his wife’s incomprehensible behavior to the peculiarities of female logic. Reason two. Women often use intuition when making decisions, based on what they call gut feeling. Therefore, they often themselves cannot explain why they acted this way and not otherwise. Men are more guided by reason. Therefore, their actions can always be logically explained. Women use intuitive insights to replace missing or poorly specified links in a logical chain. But what is intuition from a psychological point of view? This is a reliance on previous life experience, sometimes repressed into the depths of the subconscious. Plus the ability to perceive non-verbal information well (facial expressions, gestures, the slightest changes in intonation, posture, etc.). It often happens that a woman categorically declares that this person is absolutely impossible to trust (she cannot explain why it is impossible). This looks completely illogical. But the point is that the presence of life experience tells her that when wordsIf a person disagrees with the nonverbal information coming from him, then nothing good can be expected from this person. Reason three. A woman is more emotional than a man, more compassionate, more sacrificial. From the point of view of everyday logic, a woman’s desire to save a wretched person (alcoholic drug addict, parasite, unrecognized genius) looks unreasonable. But for her, the situation is absolutely logical: I love him, so he needs help. And it helps... helps... sometimes sacrificing a lot. Psychologists call this type of behavior codependent. And codependent behavior is much more common among women than among men. Often the roots of this behavior lie in the parental family. Reason four. Historically, men hunted and fished, while women gathered. Therefore, the first healers and witches were women. And as a result of this, women believe in all sorts of mysticism much more than men: in fortune telling, horoscopes, love spells and other nonsense. Reschedule an appointment just because today is a bad day according to the horoscope, go on a date with a colleague whom you don’t seem to like very much, but the fortune teller clearly said “this week there is a date with a man from your inner circle”, cut your hair only on those days , when the moon is growing... So many illogical actions from the point of view of men. But women know that everything is different. Reason five. A woman’s behavior very much reflects the attitudes of society. Previously, the role of a man was to feed his family and protect it from any adversity, and the role of a woman was to be able to run the house (including competently managing servants if there were any), as well as to be able to organize leisure time, starting from family evenings and ending with festive receptions of guests. And a woman’s education was aimed precisely at the development and improvement of these functions - a woman was taught to be a woman. She was taught housekeeping, the ability to organize not only everyday life, but also the work of her servants. In the literature you can find a description of how, for example, those who were in service made jam, but it was the hostess who decided when the bowl of jam should be removed from the heat. The woman knew how to organize festive evenings, she knew how to draw, play a musical instrument, dance, etc. Now girls and boys study together, and in modern schools no one teaches girls what it means to be a girl. Moreover, a girl’s inability to jump over a goat is subject to ridicule by her classmates (why tell a real woman the ability to jump over gymnastic apparatus?) or to climb a rope to a certain height. A girl, just like boys, should be well versed in physical and mathematical sciences and technology. To be honest, I don’t know how things are now in schools with basic military training, but I remember well how in the Soviet period schoolgirls had to be able to temporarily put on and take off a gas mask, shoot from six meters at a target from heavy machine guns, etc. .And when a woman’s natural destiny runs counter to modern attitudes and a woman rushes about, this is also perceived as her illogicality. In fact, look at what happens - a woman dreams of getting a higher education, and then getting married, having children, and raising a family. Then the question arises: why spend so much time and effort, and often money, on getting an education if a woman does not even plan to work in this field. It is very difficult to combine the organization of a quality life and professional growth, building a business and a busy personal life. And then the woman begins to amaze those around her with the illogicality of her actions and statements. I have repeatedly seen how a woman tries to simultaneously take care of her family and career growth. The desire to simultaneously, on the one hand, succeed socially, and, on the other, fulfill one’s feminine destiny, looks stupid. A woman who correctly sets her life priorities (whether someone has a husband and children, or someone has their own business) is not illogical
