What happens to the modern woman and why, in pursuit of success, status, money, power, does she become an ugly and evil Witch? Why do women use the most feminine images to methodically destroy their own and others’ lives ? According to the explanatory dictionary, “ambition” means: - arrogance - arrogance - pride - arrogance - exorbitant ambition - heightened pride and excessive self-esteem - overly exaggerated sense of self-esteem (this is a modern decoding) In the plural: - claims, claims to something, - demands for external signs of respect and honor - touchiness, anger (displeasure with something) Ambitious - selfish, vain, greedy for honors, praise. In the old days in French. in language it is a sense of honor and dignity. Between these interpretations there are a lot of options, half-tones, from positive to negative, but ambitions can serve evil rather than good. It is necessary to turn to history. Ambitions in the post-Soviet space are copying Western models of achieving success, feeding the Ego and pumping up self-esteem. In the Soviet Union there were different concepts, and, as a rule, personal ambitions were considered a problem, since the main thing was the team. General leveling, the rules of “keep your head down” and “get into trouble,” social dependency discouraged ambitions for which one could suffer and get serious complications. This inevitably affected the ability to take initiative, be a leader and take responsibility for large projects. Business was officially prohibited (in some republics it flourished in the shadows), but there was a ladder of power, the main one of which was the “party line.” Continuity was ensured by the school and university system: first the Octobrists, then the Pioneers, then the Komsomol members and, finally, the Communist Party. Social elevators worked, allowing ambitious people to rise to the top, but these were in the minority. Most people were content with what they had and did not go against the system, which maintained a consistently satisfactory (in some places good) standard of living. But after the collapse of the Union and the Soviet camp, which included European countries, the market for ambitions as a profitable idea overwhelmed the untapped and fertile soil.
