From the author: Before you decide to take action, you need to clearly understand why I’m doing this. What are my goals and what do I want to get as a result? And you need to think twice about this when it comes to children. This article was written to order for an online publication. However, the editors found the style too methodical. Well what can I say? Probably, the magazine's audience is one of those who prefer to swallow light reading without chewing. I am writing for those who are not too lazy to read and think thoughtfully. I am like that, not superficially playful, but serious and meticulous. This is my “author’s” style. Here the second version of the article is “lightweight”, but it didn’t fit either. As they say, you can’t please everyone, so I prefer to remain myself. Creative competitions and sports competitions - events that are competitive in nature - are not only a prerequisite for determining the level of abilities and skills, but also an incentive for further development, and part of the life of an athlete and “artist” "The vocal TV show Voice.Children is the dream of many vocal children and their parents - a complex and multifaceted phenomenon for children's perception. Let's try to understand the creative kitchen and find out whether it is worth exposing the unformed psyche to the simultaneous attack of many risk factors, or whether parents should not dramatize, overly caring and protecting the child. What is hidden behind the scenes Voice. Children? Emotional charge. A powerful whirlwind of various emotions and feelings associated with a new place, a crowd of spectators and fans, performing in public and communicating with idols. Here is the fear of letting teachers and relatives down, and stage fright, and anxiety about the success of the performance, and anxiety about the voting result, and the bitterness of defeat, and tears of happiness and victory. Is this useful for the child? Yes. With sufficient preparation and similar practice, preferably from a young age, this experience of super-public speaking will not become an extraordinary, out-of-the-ordinary event and will not create an unbearable psycho-emotional load for the child. No. If there were no such events in the child’s life or were not enough to develop the skill of confident behavior in front of the public, the removal of bodily tensions and the ability to withstand prolonged intensity of emotions. However, if you are one of those parents who teaches children to swim by throwing them into the water in the open ocean, and are confident in the child’s internal resources, then participation in the show is exactly what you need as a parent. The emotions of the contestant on stage are only the tip of the iceberg, which is shown to the viewer. They are given considerable intensity by the behind-the-scenes atmosphere determined by the format of the show.2. Competition format – duration and stages. At the end of the 20th century, we became acquainted with analogues of foreign competitions, strikingly different from the short and clear academic format: “Become a Star”, “Star Factory”, “Factor A”, “The X Factor”. Voice. Children is an adaptation of the original Dutch format of The Voice Kids. The long duration, calculated in months, blurring of boundaries and distances between contestants and mentors when living together and constant communication, as in the Star Factory, leads to the formation of groupings, hierarchy, interpersonal and intra-group relationships characteristic of closed children's groups - leadership, conformism, rebellion, protest, acting out aggression. All together gives additional stress to the mental apparatus: duration adds tension; joining the team requires effective adaptive mechanisms; performance in pairs and triples is reflected in the participant’s rating; Delays in judging and the final result increase uncertainty and anxiety. How beneficial is this for the child? It is useful if a child prefers a group to loneliness, if his abilities are better revealed in public, if he recharges rather than wastes energy during intensive communication and teamwork, if he has a competitive nature. In other words, if a child is a competitive extrovert, he will feel in his place in this format. Notuseful and can become exhausting, exhausting work without pleasure if the child is an introvert who prefers limited communication, strictly observes chain of command and rules, is capable of a bright and talented performance, but in a more restrained short format that does not require permanent inclusion in the process. Judging scheme and the permanent composition of the jury is another cornerstone of the Voice.Children format - contradictory and at the same time full of possibilities.3. Judging format. The multi-stage nature of judging - blind auditions, duels, duets, trios, finals - differs sharply from the linear academic format, when the winners receive prizes and then move on to another level (district, city, federal, world) with a change of jury. The Golos.Children jury gives second and third chances to capable children, selecting them as its wards with further work on their vocal abilities and participation in the project. The participant develops and grows due to the contributions of mentors. Is this useful? Yes. For those who want to learn the vocal and show skills of popular performers from the masters of the stage. The competition provides an opportunity for close contact with show business leaders, with whose light hand the difficult doors of popularity and large fees are opened. If the goal of participation is to become a recognizable performer, a pop star and reach the heights of the FM rating, then the Voice.Children project is perfect for this. No. If acting, dancing and other types of show skills are not interesting to the child, and he wants to concentrate and engage exclusively in vocals, and does not want to connect his life with the popular stage. The format of judging, in addition to external obvious signs, also includes a direct assessment of the level of performance. Voice. Children do this “at the top of their voice.”4. Public assessment. Is it useful? No. Not good for children. TV show in the “Voice” format. Children" involves evaluating the performance immediately after it. The child does not have time to come to his senses, relieve excitement, restore strength, or even take a sip of water. Incorrect assessment, description of shortcomings and mistakes from the lips of authoritative adults, who are the jury members for the participant, can cause a serious blow to the child’s not yet formed self-esteem. Highlighting mistakes and areas for further work, even gently presented, is not useful for the child in a public format, and voicing this serves other purposes, in particular, the need to argue the position of the judges to the audience and make the show more intense. In particular, there was a case of a participant fainting on stage after a performance, during evaluation. “Debriefing” should take place much later than the performance: firstly, when the child has lived internally, experienced tension, fear, calmed down and is ready to hear about his mistakes and shortcomings; secondly, from the lips of his teacher, with whom a trusting relationship has been established and a harmonious emotional background in which the child feels comfortable. In this case, there is also an opportunity to highlight the strengths of competitors without damaging children's self-esteem; the child accepts information on an intellectual level, which allows him to think more clearly and work more effectively on himself. “Public” speeches of the jury members, like the entire judging scheme, fit perfectly into the general format of the show, designed to serve certain goals.5. Goals of the competition. The competition involves cultivating popular performers who can be invested in and made money from their promotion. This requires children with high adaptability, endurance and non-conflict (with a mentor), the ability to show good results, no matter what. There is no question of searching for talent. It's about finding the most convenient vocalist to perform popular songs. A talented creative person often has an unpredictable character, is prone to rash actions, expression, or, conversely, is extremely withdrawn and closed. And therefore he is not convenient, it is difficult to negotiate with him, since he wants to show his individuality and not follow someone else’s concept. It is known that not all pop stars are.
