So, we were announced that quarantine measures will be extended until the end of April. This may prevent the spread of the virus. But how can we live for another whole month if we don’t go to work and don’t receive a salary? In the capital, the situation is even more or less prosperous. Good salaries and pensions allowed Muscovites to accumulate some money “fat”, which will not allow them to starve for some time. But what should the rest of the regions do, where people work all their lives for the kind of money that makes even a janitor-guest worker in Moscow redundant? since he won’t wave a broom? By the way, about guest workers Due to the fact that the economies of many countries neighboring Russia are dying, a multi-million army of former compatriots is trying to survive by working for the benefit of our state. I have absolutely no idea how they will survive in the current conditions: Working in our country, they, as a rule, receive very small salaries, most of which are sent to their homeland and family. At the same time, you still need to rent housing and have something. Those who made it before the borders closed went home. But there is nothing good there either: there was no work, and there is no work. Those who did not have time to leave were left without work, housing, money. What will they do? How will they get money - will they take the high road? And even with our compatriots, not everything is clear in terms of how to survive self-isolation. Okay, many will last another month.1) What if the pandemic does not subside? After all, most of us built our relationships with the state and employer in such a way as to remain invisible to the fiscal authorities. This means that you shouldn’t expect help from the state. At the very least, they will help those who worked the white way. But how long will government aid last if the quarantine lasts a couple more months? 2) After all, according to statistics, MORE than HALF of Russians do not have any savings at all! If we do not take children into account, then this is about 50 million people who will soon become brutalized by hunger, and they will be joined by an equally hungry army of guest workers. 3) I don’t want to sow panic, and, moreover, criticize the actions of the authorities, who are already working non-stop. I want to say something else: I hope that the current situation, albeit harsh, will bring many of us out of the state of euphoria and complete anabiosis. Stop being stupid and living as if there is no tomorrow: It’s time to become disciplined and start counting money. There’s still a whole lot ahead a month to taste all the delights of survival and think carefully about how to NEVER find yourself in such a situation again.4) But the recipe is very simple - when everything is over (I hope this happens soon), after returning to your normal life, start save money. But let’s now call your future savings not a “financial cushion”, but a “quarantine nest egg”. Any financial expert will tell you that this is a really necessary thing: And it should be enough for you for 6-12 months to maintain your usual standard of living. Save little by little, set aside 10-20% of each income. Additionally, buy foreign currency, take a closer look at shares of serious companies (through the purchase of index funds). SUMMARY: Today's situation has shown everyone that the familiar world can collapse overnight, and we need to be financially prepared for any life turns. Don’t get sick, enjoy communication with your family and draw conclusions for the future! ADDITIONALLY: Read my other article “Where NOT to invest money?
