I suggest starting with intrigue. More precisely, from the assignment. Find a piece of paper and something to write on. Stop for a moment, listen to yourself and answer the question: what 5-7 people, things, activities make up my life and represent the maximum value to me? Write it down in a column. Next, rank them by importance, starting with the most valuable. Now try to draw a series of concentric circles (as in the attached photo), and then fill them in by placing in the center what is the main value of your life. We will evaluate the result of the work done later. We have all heard about the transitional age that awaits everyone at the border of childhood and adulthood. At the same time, there is a second transition, which receives much less attention. And not because it is less significant. Rather, because thinking about it is not at all pleasing. And although modern age periodization calls young people up to 45 years old, and old people - starting from 60, we are mostly skeptical about the assurances that after 40 life is just beginning. Although there is some truth, and a significant one, in this statement. What prevents us from sincerely believing in it? Of course, an objective biological reality. Indeed, nature does not see any expediency in the existence of an organism that has completed its reproductive function. But a person is still something more than a biological organism. And proof of this is the presence of higher mental functions. Consequently, the issue needs to be considered much more broadly. So, what happens to a woman (and in fact, to a man, to be completely honest) when the first signs of hormonal deficiency arise, and then the ultrasound verdict reports that “the follicular apparatus is not visualized”? She has to cope with the loss. The loss of your former self, to which there is no return. In fact, even a teenager experiences the loss of his childhood. But it happens much more simply. And why? Because he is actively engaged in building the future! This is where the solution to the problem lies: saying goodbye to what is irrevocable, it is important to pay due attention to building a new future in new conditions. After all, the same periodization claims that old age will begin only at 75. And then how do we intend to live for almost a quarter of a century? Find your grandmother’s handkerchief, master the technique of baking pies and knitting woolen socks (this is said as an example, and not as an insult to lovers of cooking and handicrafts)? Now is the time to take a closer look at your drawing and see who or what you have put at the center of your life. Really yourself? Then please accept my congratulations. Well, if not, then it makes sense to think: maybe it’s time to allow yourself to live? In this case, please accept my congratulations again, because this means that your life is really just beginning. And there is enough time ahead for this. What to spend this time on? Yes, finally to myself, my beloved, no matter how blasphemous it may sound. For the most part, you have already repaid all your debts to your loved ones and those far away; you can continue to repay everything that is really necessary for them. But most of all, you probably managed to owe yourself. Repaying this debt is also important. Moreover, it is interesting, pleasant, tempting. This is why we are given this age, when our (namely our!) life is just beginning.
